Molly Half Head was an alternative rock group from Manchester, England, formed in 1992. The lineup that achieved commercial exposure consisted of Paul Bardsley on vocals, Phil Murphy on guitar, Neil Daly on bass, and Andy Pickering on drums. The bandâs breakthrough came with the release of the single "Taste Of You" in March 1993 through Playtime Records, followed by "Toe To Sand" and "Barny" later that year. Their debut album Sulk was issued in November 1993 and entered the United States market in February 1994 via Columbia Records. After bassist Neil Daly departed and was replaced by Graham Atkinson, the group signed with Columbia in the UK; the single "Shine" peaked at number 73 on the UK Singles Chart in 1995. Columbia released the second album Dunce in July 1995, but the record failed to chart and the label dropped the band, leading to the groupâs dissolution that same year. Subsequent projects saw Paul Bardsley and Phil Murphy forming Wireless, releasing a selfâtitled album Wireless in 1998.
