Biography

Moi dix Mois is a Japanese visual kei gothic metal group formed in 2002, with its members originating from Tokyo. The band’s early days were marked by the release of the mini‑CD Dialogue Symphonie on 19 November 2002, which established their dark aesthetic and melodic approach. Their breakthrough came with the full‑length album Dix Infernal on 19 March 2003, followed by the EP Shadows Temple on 31 May 2004 and the album Nocturnal Opera on 20 July 2004, all of which expanded their fanbase across Japan. Subsequent releases-Beyond The Gate (1 March 2006), Dixanadu (28 March 2007), D+Sect (15 December 2010), and Reprise (11 July 2012)-showcased a consistent evolution in composition and production, with the single "Lamentful Miss" (4 October 2006) receiving notable radio play. The group remained active until 2012, performing extensive tours in support of each album and collaborating with other visual kei acts.
