Biography

Algerian raï singer born in Algiers on December 4, 1970, Mohamed Lamine began his career in 1984, after winning the Alhane Wachababe competition. His first track, "Sidi Tabeb", proved an instant hit with Algerian audiences, who raved about the albums Sid Juge (1990), Raï sur Casbah (1995), Bessah Emchit (1996) and Fatek Louakt Rah (1998), as well as cassettes such as En Live à Paris (1997). A guest on Magic System's "Un gaou à Oran " with the group 113, which reached No. 9 in France in 2004 and in other European countries, his popularity continued to grow after duets with singers Kayliha on "Ntya" (2004) and Nessbeal on "Loin du rivage " (2006). He also collaborated with other rappers such as Rim'K on "Clandestino" (2007), OGB from Mafia K'1 Fry on "Lala Fatéma" (2012) and Rohff on "Mon bled" (2015), alongside collective albums African Tonik (2008), with Mokobé, Mory Kanté and DJ Arafat, Oh Mama Mia (2008), Raï Algeria (2012), Gouli Ouahe (2013) or Wana Wana (2015). Just as popular abroad, Mohamed Lamine performs at festivals in Europe, Asia and Canada. Based in France, he then released the albums C'Est Pas Normal (2015), Kassi Kassi (2015) and a Tribute to Cheb Hasni (2016), before the 2017 release of the compilation Mohamed Lamine - Best Of. In 2017, he invited Shaynez and Radia Manal on the album Wana Wana.
