MNL48 was a Filipino girl group from Manila. Formed in 2018, the ensemble was the fourth international sister group of the act AKB48 and the only one to debut with exactly 48 members. The group was established through nationwide auditions and a 13-week competition held in early 2018. The ensemble released its debut single, âAitakatta â Gustong Makitaâ, in 2018 followed by the single âPag-ibig Fortune Cookieâ that same year. Their recording history included the singles â365 Araw ng Eroplanong Papelâ (2019), âIkaw ang Melodyâ (2019), âHigh Tensionâ (2020) and âNo Way Manâ (2022). In 2020, the ensemble issued the single âRiverâ and the EP Aitakatta. The group was known within the 48 Group as the âVocal Queensâ for its singing ability. Management announced the group's disbandment in 2026.
