Mirusia Louwerse, known professionally as Mirusia, was born on March 29, 1985, in Brisbane, Australia. She graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music in Performance in Classical Voice and became the youngest winner of the Dame Joan Sutherland Opera Award in 2006. André Rieu discovered her talent and invited her to tour starting in 2007. Their collaboration resulted in the album Waltzing Matilda, which peaked at Number 1 on the ARIA Charts in April 2008. Mirusia's debut solo album, Always & Forever, was released in October 2010. She performed with Rieu at the coronation concert of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands in 2013 and has since released several albums, including My Favorite Things (2014), This Time Tomorrow (2016), and From the Heart (2017). In April 2019, she debuted in musical theatre with the lead role in Mimma â A Musical of War and Friendship.
