Mindgames, a progressive rock band from Belgium, was founded in 1997 by Eric Vandormael (bass) and Bart Schram (vocals). The group completed their lineup in 2000 with Rudy Van Der Veken on guitars. Their debut demo featured the songs "Mental Argue", "Signs from the Sky" and "Dreamin' the Circus". In 2002, Mindgames released their first album International Daylight, which was later distributed by Musea Records, gaining them wider exposure. Their second album, Actors in a Play (2006), produced by Frank Van Bogaert, sold well in Germany. Eric Vandormael left the band during this period due to musical differences and was replaced by Maximilian von Wüllerstorff on bass for their third album MMX, released on New Year's Day 2010.
