Mickael Mendes, known professionally as Mika Mendes, is a French singer of Cape Verdean descent born on July 2, 1982, in Nice. He is the son of singer Boy Gê Mendes. Mendes entered the music industry in 2001 on the compilation Aliança. Between 2002 and 2004, he collaborated with artists including Philip Monteiro. In 2005, he released the album New Style with Paulo Tavares, which featured the tracks âLinda bo éâ and âDam bo amorâ. He received the Artiste Révélation award in Portugal in 2007. Mendes signed with the Sushiraw label in 2008 and released the studio album Mika Mendes, which included the song âCriolaâ. In 2010, he established the Real-Touch label with his brother Djavan. His subsequent discography featured the recordings My Inspiration (2011), Sem Limite (2013), Timeless (2014), Visão (2016), and Mistério I (2019). The 2011 album included the track âTell Me Babyâ. Mendes released the single âVá láâ in 2015.
