Miguel FrÃas de Molina (born April 10, 1908), known professionally as Miguel de Molina, was a Spanish singer and actor from Málaga. Molina began his career in music at age twenty and moved to Madrid in 1930. He achieved success in Valencia with recordings including "El DÃa que nacà yo" and "Ojos verdes". Molina became a prominent figure in the copla genre but faced persecution under the dictatorship of Francisco Franco for his political views and homosexuality.In 1942, Molina went into exile in Argentina and later Mexico. He returned to Argentina following an invitation from Eva Perón. Molina starred in the films Ãsta es mi Vida (1952) and Luces de Candilejas (1956) before retiring from performance in 1960. In 1992, the Spanish government named him a knight of the Order of Isabel la Católica. Molina died in Buenos Aires on March 4, 1993.
