Michele Merlo, born on March 1, 1993, in Rosà , Italy, was an Italian singer-songwriter. His career began during the tenth edition of X Factor Italia. However, he gained significant attention during the 2017 season of Amici di Maria De Filippi, where he performed under the stage name Mike Bird. Merlo released his debut album, Cinemaboy. In 2019, he released several notable singles including "Non mi manchi più", "Mare", "Aquiloni" and "Tivù". His second album, Cuori stupidi, was released in January 2020. Tragically, Merlo suffered a cerebral hemorrhage caused by fulminant leukemia on June 3, 2021, and passed away three days later at the age of 28.
