Micah Blue Smaldone, born in 1978, is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was a founding member of the Pinkerton Thugs, an anarchist street punk band that played a significant role in the mid-1990s Boston punk revival. Smaldone's solo career began around the turn of the century, with his debut album Some Sweet Day released in 2004. His music, built on fingerstyle Piedmont Blues guitar, evolved to include full-band accompaniment and vivid lyrics. Subsequent albums include Hither and Thither (2005), The Red River (2008), and The Ring of the Rise (2013). Smaldone has toured extensively across the United States and Europe, and has collaborated with various artists including Death Vessel and Jack Rose.
