Metis is a Japanese reggae singer and songwriter born on 28 March 1984 in Hiroshima. She achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by reggae and J-pop. After beginning as an R&B artist she signed with a new label to pursue reggae. Her recording career began with the indie mini-album ANSWER (2005) followed by the mini-album MUSIC (2006). She achieved professional recognition for the major debut mini-album WOMAN (2006). Her discography includes the major debut single "æ¢ ã¯å²ããã æ¡ã¯ã¾ã ãããª" (2007) which was recorded in Jamaica and focused on supporting students taking entrance exams. She achieved professional recognition for the tracks "Respect!" (2007), "è±é³¥é¢¨æ" (2007), and "æ¯è³æ" (2008). Her recording career includes the debut studio recording ONE LOVE (2007) which exceeded 70,000 copies in shipments. She achieved professional recognition for the track "ãã£ã¨ãã°ã«â¦" (2009) and the studio recordings ONE HEART (2009) and ONE SOUL (2011). Metis appeared on the radio program Validelight no Buchi-vali-night and conducted the Metis LIVE TOUR 2007 "ONE LOVE".
