Biography
Meta Guacha are an Argentine cumbia villera group formed in 1999 in Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires Province, by Chilean-born singer Traiko Milenko Pinuer. Their long-running line-up has included Traiko Pinuer on vocals, Pablo Badaracco on guitar, Maximiliano Lombardi on keyboards, Germán Alegre on bass, Nicolás Carrizo on timbal, Tomás Palavecino on octapad and Marcelo Badaracco on trumpet. Emerging during the rise of cumbia villera around Argentinaâs social and economic crisis of the early 2000s, the group recorded early songs including "Alma Blanca", a social and devotional track inspired by Pinuerâs pilgrimage to the Virgin of Luján. Their first album, Lona, Cartón y Chapa, arrived in 2000 and set the tone for a catalog built around barrio stories, working-class hardship and rough-edged dance rhythms. They followed with Locura Transitoria in 2001, Ollas VacÃas in 2002, Va Como Trompada in 2003 and Vamo a Meter Guacha in 2004, before returning with Después de Todo in 2006. After later line-up changes and renewed activity under Pinuerâs leadership, Meta Guacha continued touring in Argentina and other Latin American countries, and reappeared in the late 2010s with singles including "Negro Cumbiero", "Tanto Amor", "Después de Ti Quién" and "Adiós Amor". Their 2019 album Adiós Amor extended that comeback period, followed by live releases such as Cumbia Chapa (En Vivo) in 2022 and En Vivo in 2023. In 2024, they revisited their classics through Session #19: Meta Guacha and issued new versions including "Te Recordaré / Para la Gilada" and "Loco y Aturdido". In 2025, they released "El Embarrado (Remix)" and "Sin Un Mango". In 2026, Meta Guacha continued their revival with Sesión Cumbiera En Vivo, "Lindos Feos", "El Cruce de la Cumbiera" with Mala Fama and "Para La Gilada (Remix)", a new version of their signature song with Callejero Fino and BM.
