Mercury4 is an Australian boy band formed in 2002, consisting of Rien Low, Brad Johnston, Javier Perez, and Cole Rintoul. The group originated from a meeting between Low and Johnston, with Rintoul joining in 2001 and Perez in 2002. They signed with BMG after a showcase gig at the Mercury Lounge, which inspired their name. Their debut single "Get Me Some" was released in June 2003 and peaked at number 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The band's second single "5 Years from Now" reached number 16 in February 2004. In early 2004, Perez left the group for personal reasons and was replaced by Kevin Layton. Their third single "Every Little Step", a cover of Bobby Brown's hit, peaked at number 27. Mercury4 released their self-titled debut album Mercury4 on May 31, 2004, which included a cover of Air Supply's "All Out of Love" featuring vocals by Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell. The album charted for one week in Australia. However, the group disbanded by late 2004 following BMG's merger with Sony.
