Meg Bonus is a Japanese music project launched by vocalist, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist Kei Nomoto, born in 2005. Initially formed as a duo with drummer Yakumo Kudo, the group began in May 2024 when they completed their first demo recordings. This marked the official start of Meg Bonus, laying the foundation for their unique sound, which blends alternative rock, lo-fi textures, and introspective songwriting. In October 2024, Meg Bonus released their debut EP 18PERSONAL through APOLLO SOUNDS, officially kicking off their full-scale musical activities. Their reflective and youthful tone resonated with listeners navigating adolescence and early adulthood. However, in February 2025, Kudo left the group, and Meg Bonus transitioned into a solo project led solely by Nomoto. Continuing under this new format, Nomoto released the first full-length album New,man in early 2025, showcasing growth in songwriting and production. One of the standout tracks, âHaru ni Nareâ(2025), captures themes of renewal, emotional release, and the delicate transition between seasonsâsymbolic of both personal and artistic evolution.
