Jonathan Souza Santana, better known as J. Eskine, was born on December 29, 1999, in Salvador, Bahia. He began his musical journey in 2018, honing his craft through trap-style performances and YouTube rap battles, and even honking out rhythms in street fairs, bus terminals, and boat docks to support his family. National prominence arrived in late 2024 when his breakout hit âResenha do Arrochaâ (featuring Alef Donk) soared to Number 1 on the Billboard Brasil Hot 100. Capitalizing on that momentum, he issued the EP Gângster Também Ama in December 2024, quickly followed by O Que Bate à Maluquice in January 2025, and a collaborative EP Seresta Do Pai Das Crianças with Tierry and Seresta do Rasta in February 2025. Over the first half of 2025, J. Eskine maintained his prolific pace through standout singles including âResenha do Arrocha 2.0â and âResenha do Arrocha 3.0,â âMedo de Amarâ (with Silvanno Salles & Alef Donk), âRala Em Mimâ (featuring Alef Donk, MC Luuky & DJ Glenner), and other tracks like âTem Culpa Euâ and âAmor Bandido.â His debut album, Nem Só de Maluquice Vive o Homemâa seven-track collectionâlanded in June 2025, showcasing his mastery over arrocha, trap, and hip-hop with increasingly refined storytelling and regional authenticity.
