Biography

Mirna BogdanoviÄ, a Slovenian-Bosnian jazz musician, born in 1990 in Sarajevo, began playing piano at age seven. She studied classical piano at the Music Academy Ljubljana before shifting to jazz singing at Klagenfurt Conservatory and later the Berlin University of the Arts. BogdanoviÄ was part of the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra led by Niels Klein and contributed vocals to their album Groove and the Abstract Truth (2016). She founded the Good Old Good Ones and the Mirna Bogdanovic Group, performing extensively across Europe. Her debut album Confrontation (2020) earned her a German Jazz Award. She won another with her second album Awake (2023), notably named Album of the Year.
