Matteo Romano (March 20, 2002) is an Italian singer-songwriter from the city of Cuneo in Piedmont. Like many aspiring artists of his generation, he began his music career through social media with the unveiling of his first single "Concedimi" in 2020. Eventually, the track went viral and notched up over 3 million views. The success of his debut single helped him land a record deal with Universal Music Italia, which released his follow-up single "Casa di Specchi" in 2021. Later that year, Matteo Romano took part in the Sanremo Giovani contest, which selected three newcomers to participate in the 72nd Sanremo Music Festival. He won third place with the song "Testa e Croce," earning the chance to compete in the Campioni category. Shortly after, his entry "Virale" placed 11th in Sanremo and was later released as a single, reaching Number 12 on the Italian Singles Chart.
