Matias Damásio, born Matias Damásio on May 9, 1982, in Benguela, Angola, is a singer known for his contributions to Kizomba and world music. He began his career in 2000, performing at religious festivals and participating in television contests such as Estrelas no Palco and Domingão Coca-Cola. Damásio's debut album, Vitória was released in 2005, followed by Amor é Festa na Lixeira in 2009. His subsequent albums include Por Angola (2012), Por Amor (2016), which peaked at number four on the Portuguese Albums Chart, and Augusta (2018), which topped the same chart. Notable songs from his discography include "Loucos" featuring Héber Marques and "Guardiões da Vida". Damásio has won several awards in Angola, including Best Male Singer and Best Song at Rádio Luanda in 2015 and 2017. He also participated in a collaboration with other Angolan artists to sing the national anthem "Angola Avante" on its 45th anniversary in 2020.
