Biography
Masonia was an Australian rock group formed in 2004 in Sydney, comprising Moe Bloomfield on bass guitar and backing vocals, Altiyan Childs on lead vocals and guitar, Nathan Merryment on drums, and Daniel Rivers on keyboards and backing vocals. The bandâs debut single, "Simple", released in 2004, entered the ARIA singles chart at number 41, marking their first chart success. In 2006, Masonia released their sole studio album, World on Fire, through Silverback Records. The group followed up with an extended play, Anywhere with You, in 2006, and issued the single "Anywhere with You" that same year. The band disbanded in 2008. Postâdisbandment, Childs won the second season of The X Factor in 2010, while Rivers pursued a production career under the moniker Dans Pies, and Bloomfield joined the band Deer Republic, which won the 2009 Tooheys Extra Dry UncharTED competition.
