Biography

Martin Degville, born on January 27, 1961, in Walsall, England, is a British musician known for his role as the lead vocalist and co-songwriter of the new wave band Sigue Sigue Sputnik. Degville's involvement in the Birmingham club scene and his fashion work at his Yaya boutique led to his discovery by Tony James and Neal X, resulting in the formation of Sigue Sigue Sputnik. The band achieved worldwide success with their 1986 hit single "Love Missile F1-11" and released six other EMI singles. Following the initial split of Sigue Sigue Sputnik in 1990, Degville embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album World War 4 in 1991 through Receiver Records. He continued to release music under various names, including Sputnik 2 – The Future, Sci-Fi Superstars, and Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronic.
