Mariano Tashiro, born Januaryâ¯11â¯1984 in Nagasaki Prefecture, is a Japanese tenor, songwriter and musicalâtheatre actor. He studied piano from age three, began vocal training at fifteen with his tenor father, and later attended Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music for opera and musical theatre. After graduation he joined ESCOLTA in 2007, releasing his first Victor Entertainment recording that year. In 2009 he debuted on stage as Arman in "Marguerite" and subsequently appeared in productions such as "The Great Gatsby" and "Ãlisabeth". His solo releases include I am hereï½Musical selectionï½ (2014) and Simpatia (2019). Tashiro performed the Japanese and English versions of the theme song for Nintendoâs Fire Emblem Heroes and has appeared on NHK and TV Asahi programmes, including "I Love Musical" and "Wien Philharmonic New Year Concertâ¯2016". He received a nomination for the 39th Kikuta Ichio Theatre Award, and in 2017 his revival of "Sparkling Star" won the Agency for Cultural Affairs Japan Media Arts Festival grand prize.
