Biography
Marinko RokviÄ, born on January 27, 1954, in KoluniÄ, near Bosanski Petrovac, was a Serbian singer. He moved to Belgrade and began performing in kafanas after high school, releasing his debut record in 1974. His breakthrough came at the Ilidža Folk Music Festival in 1977, leading to the release of his debut album Ruža in 1981 under PGP-RTB. RokviÄ became one of the most popular Serbian folk singers, with notable hits including "Da volim drugu ne mogu" and "Ti za ljubav nisi roÄena." His 1983 release, "Da volim drugu ne mogu", sold around six hundred thousand copies. RokviÄ released a total of twenty-one studio albums and won the Zlatni Melos award in 1993. He died on November 6, 2021, at the age of sixty-seven due to pancreatic cancer.
