Biography

BergÃ¾Ã³ra ÃrnadÃ³ttir, born on February 15, 1948, was an Icelandic singer-songwriter known for her contributions to Icelandic folk music. She began her career with the release of her first solo album, Eintak, in 1977. In the mid-1970s, she hosted and performed in one of Icelandic TV's first music shows, Kvartett GuÃ°mundar SteingrÃms. Her second solo album, BergmÃ¡l, was released in 1982, followed by Afturhvarf (1983), ÃaÃ° vorar (1985), and Ã Seinna Lagi (1987). She continued to release albums throughout her career, with LÃfsbÃ³kin being released in 1998. Many of her songs were built around the lyrics of Icelandic poets. BergÃ¾Ã³ra ÃrnadÃ³ttir passed away on March 8, 2007.
