Biography

Manuel Quijano, born on January 27, 1967, in León, Spain, is a Spanish musician, composer, and singer. He began his career with his brothers Óscar and Raúl in the group Café Quijano, signing with Warner Music and releasing their self-titled debut album Café Quijano in 1998. Their second album, La extraordinaria paradoja del Sonido Quijano, released in 1999, achieved significant success with the single "La Lola", which reached Number 1 on radio stations in over 30 countries. The band received nominations for Best New Group at the Latin Grammy Awards and a nomination for Best Rock Alternative Album at the Grammy Academy Awards. In 2001, they released La taberna del Buda, which sold nearly a million copies. Following the band’s hiatus in 2008, Quijano pursued a solo career under the name Quijano, releasing albums such as Vidas y venidas (2007) and Santa Mónica Boulevard (2009).
