Man Jumping was a British musical ensemble formed in England in 1983, consisting of members from the disbanded collective The Lost Jockey. The band included Andy Blake, Martin Ditcham, Orlando Gough, John Lunn, Glyn Perrin, Charlie Seaward, and Schaun Tozer. Their debut album Jump Cut (1985), released on Cocteau Records, garnered enthusiastic reviews for its fusion of post-minimalist music with rock, funk, and dance elements. The album was produced by Mike Hedges, Philip Bagenal, and Man Jumping. In 1987, they released their second album World Service (1987), which featured contributions from Simon Limbrick after Martin Ditcham's departure to tour with Sade. Notable tracks include "On the Rocks" and "Itâs Been Fun". The band worked with various dance companies and toured with London Contemporary Dance Theatre and Second Stride. Man Jumping disbanded in 1987, but their legacy endured through releases and remixes, including the Man Jumping Remixed series in 2019.
