Biography

Born Majid Al Mohandis Al-Attabi on 25th October 1971 in Baghdad, Iraq, Iraqi-Saudi singer and composer Majid Al Mohandis is often called the "Engineer of the Arabic song" or "Voice of Diamond". The Arabic pop hero began life as a tailor before graduating from Baghdad's Faculty of Engineering. After realising his musical ambitions, he bought his first oud, fighting off his familyâs concerns to work hard and focus on proving himself as a musician. The release of his first album, Waheshni Moot, came in 2005, followed by "Enjaneat" in 2006 and "Ensaa" in 2008. He continued to release LPs steadily throughout the '10s, scoring success across countries in the Arab world including Saudi Arabia, where he was given Saudi citizenship by King Abdullah in 2010, while still retaining his Iraqi citizenship. The '20s generated a slew of albums, including 2020's "Shahd El Hourouf", 2021's "Wahish Al Denya" (2021) and 2022's "Meshtaqelak" and "Eateni Waqtan".
