Magdalena Bay are an American electro-pop duo formed in 2016, consisting of singer-songwriter Mica Tenenbaum and producer Matthew Lewin who were originally part of a prog-rock band called Tabula Rasa. Hailing from Miami, Florida the duo quickly gained recognition for their innovative sound, which blends catchy pop melodies with dreamy synths and introspective lyrics. Their music captures the essence of modern youth culture, exploring themes of love, identity, and self-discovery. Their debut single "Voc Pop" arrived in 2016 with their debut EP, Day/Pop, arriving three years later. They quickly earned praise for their unique approach to electro-pop while maintaining a distinctively playful and experimental edge. They cemented their sound with their 2021 debut LP Mercurial World, which made it to number 18 on the US Heatseekers chart, going even further with the 2024 follow-up Imaginal Disk, which landed the pair sixth place on the same chart.
