Biography
Peadar O'Loughlin, born on November 6, 1929, in Kilmaley, County Clare, Ireland, was a traditional Irish musician known for his skills as a flutist. His career began to take shape in the late 1940s. O'Loughlin won the All-Ireland Fleadh title for flute playing in both 1956 and 1957, notable for his rhythmic style with minimal ornamentation. In 1959, he contributed to the influential album All-Ireland Champions - Violin, alongside Paddy Canny, P. Joe Hayes, and Bridie Lafferty. Throughout his career, O'Loughlin was a member of bands such as Tulla Céilà Band and Kilfenora Céilà Band. He passed away on October 22, 2017, leaving behind a significant legacy in traditional Irish music.
