Biography
The Silly Sister, and English folk music duo, was formed in 1976 by Maddy Prior and June Tabor. Both singers met at Oxford in the 1960s and initially performed under their own names before releasing their debut album Silly Sisters in 1976. The duo toured during the 1980s, leading to the release of their second album, No More To The Dance, in 1988 via Topic Records. This album received critical acclaim, with a Chicago Tribune review describing it as "nearly flawless" and "elegantly understated." The song "Hedger and Ditcher" from this album was included in the Topic Records' 70th anniversary box set Three Score and Ten in 2009.
