MaÅgorzata Maria Ostrowska, born on May 2, 1958, in Szczecinek, Poland, is a Polish singer who began her musical journey at an early age, learning to play the violin and piano, and singing at 11 years old. Ostrowska's breakthrough came in 1975 when she won first prize at the Soviet Song Festival in Zielona Góra for her performance of "SÅowiki" and later won the amateur contest at the KoÅobrzeg Soldiers' Song Festival with "Szalone chÅopaki". From 1981 to 1991, Ostrowska was the lead singer of the rock band Lombard. She left Lombard due to internal conflicts and began her solo career with the album Alchemia in 1999. Ostrowska received the Bursztynowy SÅowik award for her career achievements at the Sopot Festival in 1999.
