She rose to fame in 2017 by winning the 2017 Sanremo Junior Festival and further raised her profile by participating in the tenth season of reality music competition Indonesian Idol. Born in Medan to a devout Catholic family, Lyodra took part in several singing competitions from a very early age and received vocal training by reputed vocal coach Derta Puba. During her teenage years, she studied under Indonesian composer Erwin Gutawa and made several appearances in national events such as the 2016 Java Jazz Festival and performed with Gutawaâs Above Average project at an event that commemorated the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at Jakartaâs Merdeka Palace. Following her victory at the 2017 Sanremo Junior Festival with the Gutawa-penned âDear Dream,â which was later released as a single, she became a contestant on the tenth season of Indonesian Idol in 2019, reaching the grand finale and winning first place by beating Tiara Anugrah with the track âStar of My Heart.â This triumph marked a new phase in Lyodraâs career as she released the 2020 singles âGemintang Hatikuâ and âTentang Kamu,â which broke into the Indonesian Top 100 and earned her a win at the Terrible Awards in the category of Best Newcomer.
