Biography

Lusk was an American psychedelic rock supergroup formed in 1998, featuring members from Tool, Replicants, Failure, and Medicine. The band consisted of Paul D'Amour on guitar, vocals, and effects; Chris Pitman on piano, keyboards, harpsichord, vibraphone, and vocals; Greg Edwards on bass, synthesizer, guitar, and vocals; Brad Laner on drums, guitar, vocals, and effects; and Danny Carey on membranophone. Their debut album, Free Mars, was released in 1997 on Volcano Entertainment. The music video for "Backworlds" was featured on MTV's 120 Minutes and 12 Angry Viewers. Despite not achieving significant commercial success, the album was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1998 for Best Recording Package. Legal issues with their label and increasing activities outside of the band led to Lusk disbanding quietly in the late 1990s.
