Biography

Born in Camberwell, London, on June 19, 1960, Luke Morley is a guitarist, singer and songwriter best known as a founding member and mainstay of the British hard rock band Thunder, among other collaborations. With Thunder, formed in 1989, he helped define a powerful sound blending classic hard rock and catchy melodies, contributing to the release of numerous hit albums such as Backstreet Symphony (1990), Laughing on Judgement Day (1992) and Behind Closed Doors (1995). Alongside his career with Thunder, Morley has developed a solo career, with several albums to his credit, including El Gringo Retro (2006), Songs from the Blue Room (2023) and Walking on Water (2025). He also collaborated with other artists and projects, notably Terraplane (1986-1987), before forming Thunder, then The Union (2009), a duo formed with singer Peter Shoulder, as well as The Quireboys for an album and tour in 2024.
