Luis Arcaraz Torrás, born December 5, 1910 in Mexico City, was a pianist, composer, and conductor. He formed his first ensemble in 1928 and performed at the Palma Theater in Tampico, which led to radio contracts and collaborations with artists like AgustÃn Lara and Gonzalo Curiel. In 1938, he established his dance and jazz orchestra, known for hits such as "Quinto patio" (composed with Mario Molina Montes) and "Prisionero del mar" (with Ernesto Cortázar). His orchestration blended traditional jazz elements with Mexican rhythms, influencing the bolero genre. Arcaraz's work was also featured in films such as La Liga De Las Canciones. He died on June 1, 1963.
