Los Sabandeños, a folk music group from Tenerife, Spain, was formed in 1965 by a group of university friends. The group released their first album, Misa Sabandeña, in 1970. Throughout their career, Los Sabandeños released nearly 70 albums, including AntologÃa Del Folklore Canario Vol. 2 (1972), Cantata Del Mencey Loco (1975), and Guanche (1977). They gained significant popularity through collaborations with artists like MarÃa Dolores Pradera and performances in various countries, including Belgium, Italy, the United States, and Mexico. Their discography spans multiple genres, from traditional Canarian folk to boleros, with notable works such as A La Luz De La Luna (1990) and Amor Y Carnaval (1992). Los Sabandeños also received a Latin Grammy nomination in 2009 for "Best Traditional Tropical Album" for Te canto un bolero, recorded with Pradera.
