Consisting of Lorelle (Lorena Quintanilla, vocals, guitar, bass) and The Obsolete (Alberto González, drums, percussion, keyboards, guitar, bass), Lorelle Meets the Obsolete is a Mexican alternative rock band from Guadalajara, formed in 2010. Their music blends shoegaze, neo-psychedelia, post-punk and indie rock, characterized by atmospheric guitars, synthesizer strings and ethereal vocals, creating a sound universe both melancholic and powerful. Active within Soho Riots, who released an EP in 2008, the duo made their first albums for the Captcha label, Welfare (2011), Corruptible Faces (2013), Chambers (2014) and Balance (2016), before signing with English label Sonic Cathedral, matching their musical aesthetic. The result is Live in London (2015), De Facto (2019), Datura (2023) and Corporal (2025).
