Lion, an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983, initially consisted of ex-Tytan vocalist Norman Swan and former Lone Star guitarist Tony Smith. The lineup was completed with bassist Alex Campbell, drummer Mark Edwards, guitarist Doug Aldrich, and bassist Jerry Best. Their debut came with "Love Is a Lie" on the Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter soundtrack in 1984. In 1985, they released the EP Power Love, followed by their first album, Dangerous Attraction, in 1987 under Scotti Brothers Records. Lion gained significant exposure with their theme song for The Transformers: The Movie and notable tracks like "Never Surrender" and "Power Love" from The Wraith. Their second album, Trouble In Angel City, was released in 1989 on the Grand Slamm label. Tragically, drummer Mark Edwards suffered a broken neck in September of that year, leading to the band's disbandment.
