Biography

L'Infonie, a musical group from Montreal, Quebec, was an avant-garde chamber ensemble formed in 1967 under the direction of composers Walter Boudreau and Raôul Duguay. L'Infonie released four albums between 1969 and 1974, including L'Infonie in 1969 and Vol. 333, which was re-released on vinyl in 2016 by Montreal label Mucho Gusto. The ensemble's work was highly influential in the Montreal avant-garde music scene, with their albums becoming sought-after collector’s items. In addition to their musical output, L'Infonie was the subject of a documentary film titled Unfinished Infonie, directed by Roger Frappier, which won the Canadian Film Award for Best Sound at the 25th Canadian Film Awards. The group disbanded in 1974.
