Biography

Linda Nicholson, born in 1955 in London, is a British classical pianist and harpsichordist. She began her musical training at the Royal College of Music, University of London, studying piano under Kendall Taylor and harpsichord with Ruth Dyson. In 1978, she won first prize at the inaugural International Pianoforte Competition in Paris, marking a significant breakthrough in her career. Five years later, she secured the prize at the International Piano-Forte Competition during the Festival of Early Music in Bruges. In 1978, she founded the London Fortepiano Trio, with whom she recorded works by Beethoven and Mozart. Since 2001, she has been a regular jury member for this competition. She collaborated with notable artists such as violinist Hiro Kurosaki and various Baroque ensembles. Her solo recordings include Discovering the Piano (2015) and multiple volumes of Beethoven's Piano and Violin Sonatas from 2009 to 2010.
