Born in 1985 in Oran, Algeria, Lina Doran moved to France at the age of 6 after miraculously escaping a terrorist bomb attack. From Caen, she gradually took up music, mixing Western sounds with Mediterranean aesthetics. She unveiled a debut single entitled "Almeria" (2016), then followed up with her debut album, La Gitane (2016). Inspired by a bohemian aesthetic, Lina Doran's music is a cross between French variété and Arabic chanson, dealing with the themes of uprootedness and travel. Self-produced, her proposals appeal to a wide audience, enabling her to perform on the Olympia stage, opening for Middle Eastern singers. After In the Dark, a five-track EP released in 2018, Lina Doran returns to the front of the stage in 2023 with the song "Dessine-moi", with its personal themes around children who are victims of war.
