Biography

Amel Bent, who was born in Paris on June 21, 1985, was discovered on the M6 TV show À la Recherche de la Nouvelle Star, and has gone beyond this label to become a singer in her own right with the surprise success of "Ma philosophie" (No. 1) and her debut album Un Jour d'Été (No. 3), released in 2004. She revitalized her career with À 20 Ans (No. 4 in 2007) and Où Je Vais (No. 9 in 2009). Délit Mineur, No. 24 in 2011, slides ever further away from her original R&B. In 2012, in addition to appearing on Danse avec les stars, she took part in the Génération Goldman album, and the following year sang a duet with Johnny Hallyday for his 70th birthday. Amel Bent released Instinct in February 2014 (no. 11), then took part in Aznavour, Sa Jeunesse, a compilation of Charles Aznavour covers. Two years later, she contributed this time to a compilation of Johnny Hallyday covers, On A Tous Quelque Chose de Johnny, backing a rendition of "Que je t'aime". In October 2017, Amel Bent joined a new jury, that of the TV talent show The Voice Kids. She then returned to her own musical production with a sixth album, Demain (No. 12 in 2019), before joining the panel of jurors for The Voice, la plus belle voix. In 2020, she successively unveiled the duets "Jusqu'au bout",(no. 8) with Imen Es and "1, 2, 3" (no. 9), with rapper Hatik. The following year saw her team up with Camélia Jordana and Vitaa on the joint album Sorøre (no. 13), followed by her seventh album of her own and the first to reach number one, Vivante. In turn coach of The Voice Kids (2018-2019) then The Voice, la plus belle voix (2020-2023), Amel Bent set to work on her eighth album Minuit Une (2025), accompanied by the singles "Décharge mentale" and "Triste". The album, which reached no. 29 on release, also includes duets with Nadjee and Susannoô.
