Biography

Darryl Kevin Richardson, known professionally as Lil Scrappy, was born on January 19, 1982, in Atlanta, Georgia. He is an American rapper who gained initial recognition through his mixtapes and the anthem "Head Bussa" released in 2003 with Lil Jon. This track reached Number 73 on Billboard's Rap and R&B charts. In February 2004, he collaborated with Trillville on the EP The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Lil Scrappy and Trillville, produced by Lil Jon. His second single "No Problem" achieved commercial success, peaking at Number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 and top 10 in rap and R&B charts. In 2006, Lil Scrappy released his debut album Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live, which reached Number 24 on the Billboard 200. The album's lead single "Money In the Bank" featuring Young Buck was a significant hit, reaching high positions in various charts and gaining extensive radio play. Lil Scrappy also appeared in the video game WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. His subsequent albums include Prince of The South (2008) and Tha Gru$tle (2012). Throughout his career, Lil Scrappy has collaborated with notable artists such as Young Buck, Lil Jon, and E-40. He continued to put out music in the 2020s, including the single "Daddy" with Frankee Lu in 2025.
