Biography

A product of the underground rap scene, Pouya has built up a loyal and ever-growing following of fans through concerts and albums. Born in Miami, Florida, on December 20, 1994, Kevin Pouya and his friend Fat Nick made a name for themselves on social networks with a sketch show they hosted, inviting rappers like Denzel Curry and the Raider Klan group along the way. After abandoning his studies, he began rapping in 2011, first as a duo and then as a group with Buffet Boys and Batkave, where he reunited with Fat Nick. Their 2013 track, "Get Buck", proves viral, with millions of views accumulated over the years. In 2014, Pouya released his debut mixtape Stunna, followed a year later by South Side Slugs and a collaboration with $uicideboys. His debut album Underground Underdog was released in 2016 on his Buffet Boys label and reached No. 156 on the Billboard 200, followed in 2018 by Five Five, then The South Got Something to Say in 2019, with contributions from Juicy J, Ghostemane and City Morgue. In addition to mixtapes with Fat Nick, Drop Out of School (2017) and Drop Out of School 2 (2020), Pouya continues his solo path with a growing reputation. He successively released the albums Blood Was Never Thick as Water (2021), Gator (2023) and They Could Never Make Me Hate You (2024).
