Biography

Born Scott Arceneaux Jr. on April 11, 1989 in Marrero, Louisiana, US rapper $crim gained notoriety as a member of the New Orleans punk-rap hip-hop duo Suicideboys (stylized as $UICIDEBOY$) alongside his cousin Ruby da Cherry. The pair first began putting out music on Internet in the mid-2010s with their debut album, I Want to Die in New Orleans, arriving in 2018. Meanwhile, $crim began taking his first steps as a solo artist. He dropped his debut studio album, the 20-track A Man Rose from the Dead, in 2020 on the label he runs with his aforementioned cousin Ruby da Cherry, the reputable G*59 Records, and through which all of their music has been issued. He entered 2024 with the acoustic country-meets-emo rap single "Paradise," with his second full-length offering, the 26-track Lonely Boy, released the same year. In 2025, $crim continued to explore personal and introspective themes in his third full-length, Via Crucis,a reference to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a 30-track project that delves into themes of spirituality and redemption including the lead single "Methamphetamine Blues".
