Les Frères Déjean, a Haitian musical group specializing in Konpa music, was founded in 1963 by Maestro Lyonel Déjean. Initially known as Les Frères de Pétion Ville, the group released their debut album Haïti in 1974, which marked their breakthrough and established them as a significant force in Haitian music. Throughout their career, Les Frères Déjean produced numerous influential albums, including International (1976), Bouki ac Malice (1976), L'Univers (1979). The group maintained a core of family members from the Déjean clan, while also incorporating non-family musicians. Les Frères Déjean significantly contributed to the professionalization of music creation in the Caribbean.
