Lars Bygdén, born in 1973 in Sundsvall, Sweden, is a Swedish singer-songwriter and guitarist. He began his career as a guitarist in psychedelic bands Magic Broom and The Shades of Orange. In 1996, he formed the country-rock band The Thousand Dollar Playboys, which released two critically acclaimed albums before disbanding in 2003. Bygdén's solo career started with Trading Happiness for Songs (2005), his debut album under Massproduktion, which won the Swedish Manifest award for best singer-songwriter album of the year and featured the duet "This Road" with Ane Brun. He released his second solo album, Family Feelings, in 2009 and compiled 15 years of songwriting on the double album Songs I Wrote (2011). Bygdén continued with Dark Companion (2018) and One Last Time for Love (2022), showcasing his enduring career in music.
