Landscape were an English synthpop band formed in 1975 in London. The group consisted of Richard James Burgess, Christopher Heaton, Andy Pask, Peter Thoms, and John L. Walters. Landscape initially gained recognition through their live performances and tours, playing in various rock, punk, and jazz venues. They released two instrumental EPs on their independent label Event Horizon before signing with RCA Records. In 1979, Landscape released their debut studio album Landscape. Their follow-up album, From the Tea-Rooms of Mars... To The Hell-Holes Of Uranus, was released in 1980 and included the hit singles "Einstein a Go-Go" and "Norman Bates", both of which charted in the UK Top 5. In 1982, they released their third studio album Manhattan Boogie-Woogie. Following this release, Christopher Heaton and Peter Thoms left the group, and the remaining members continued as Landscape III, releasing singles such as "So Good, So Pure, So Kind" and "You Know How to Hurt Me".
