Biography

Lambasaia is a Brazilian lambada group that has revived the vibrant, sensual rhythm of the 1990s, blending it with humor and infectious energy. Formed in 2003 in Feira de Santana, Bahia, the band gained widespread recognition following their return in 2018, with hits like "Viajo Nela," "Levar Fumo," and "Bundada no Chão." Their unique approach to lambada, a genre once thought to have faded, has attracted diverse audiences, earning the band a prominent place in Brazil’s contemporary music scene. Led by charismatic frontman Léo Dumóve, Lambasaia brings a playful and dynamic performance style, often compared to rock icons for its intensity. The band's success culminated in the recording of their first official DVD at the Baile do Cafajeste (2019) in Salvador, which featured collaborations with notable artists such as Devinho Novaes. Known for their high-energy live shows, Lambasaia also made a significant debut at Salvador’s Carnival, leading their own trio elétrico. With a strategy to reintroduce lambada in a modern context, Lambasaia continues to innovate within the Bahian music landscape, creating a distinct and irresistible sound that has left an indelible mark on Brazilian pop culture.
