La Santa Grifa, a hardcore rap group from Tampico, Tamaulipas, formed in 2013 with original members Yusak, Reghoz, and Centavo. Their gritty and unapologetic style quickly gained attention, with their breakout track "Seguiré Fumando" becoming an underground hit. Following internal conflicts, the group rebranded as Santa Grifa and welcomed new members Waza, Tolderck, Miky, and Bany. In April 2015, they dropped Santos Grifos Vol. 1, which solidified their presence in Mexico's hip-hop scene. The group faced tragedy in July 2015 when Tolderck was reported missing, and they honored him with the song "Un Santo Grifo Nunca Muere." Over the next few years, they continued releasing music with albums like Hasta Donde Se Pueda in 2016 and El Mal Ejemplo in 2017. Despite facing legal controversiesâlater proven falseâLa Santa Grifa maintained their momentum, building a loyal fanbase through raw lyrics that reflect street life, drugs, and hardship, often delivered with fast flows and dark, brooding beats. By the 2020s, Yusak was the sole member of the group, releasing the albums Fuera de Ãrbita (2022) and Frenia (2023). He went on to drop a deluxe edition of Frenia later in 2023 featuring bonus tracks and remixes with guests like Santa Fe Klan and Alemán. In 2024 and early 2025, he released a steady cadence of singles, including âZona de Despeje,â âNada Cambió,â and âCero Favor,â keeping his sound current with trap, rap and urbano elements. Follow-up album Danzando con Demonios arrived in June 2025, preceded by the single "Un Cuento."
