Biography

Hailing from Le Théâtre du Fil, a theater company based in Savigny-sur-Orge (Essonne, France), the three musicians of La Rue Kétanou have seduced audiences with their realistic songs, but also with the world of travel and travelling acrobats. A trio since 1998, Olivier Leite (guitar, vocals), Mourad Musset (guitar, vocals) and Florent Vintrigner (accordion, guitar, harmonica, vocals) opened for Tryo at the Paris Olympia before recording their first album En Attendant Les Caravanes (2000), preceded and followed by numerous concerts across France. Open to a wide range of musical influences, La Rue Kétanou practice a chanson style that embraces gypsy music, folk, reggae, pop and rock. After the albums Y'A des Cigales Dans la Fourmilière (2002) and Ouvert à Double Tour (live, 2003), the musicians took part in parallel projects such as T'Inquiète Lazare and Mon Côté Punk (with Loïc Lantoine). In 2009, following the release of À Contre Sens, the trio embarked on a tour with the JOSEM orchestra (Jeune orchestre symphonique de l'Entre-Deux-Mers). The show, entitled La Rue Kétanou Symphonique, resulted in a live album released in 2011. A new studio album, Allons Voir, was released in 2014, but we had to wait six years for the next one, named after the year of its release: 2020.
